Keilor is one of Melbourne’s oldest communities, a historic village on the banks of the Maribyrnong where settlers arrived in the late 1830s and the Keilor Hotel has stood since 1849. The old village still has its own character, ringed by Brimbank Park, the Maribyrnong River Trail and the dramatic Organ Pipes National Park just to the north-west, and the suburb is home to long-established Italian and Maltese families alongside newer arrivals.
